Couples counselling can help you and your partner rebuild trust, improve communication and find practical ways to solve recurring problems.

I’m Leigh Barber, a registered counsellor at Master of Your Universe Counselling, based in Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast. I work with couples from many backgrounds, new relationships, long-term partnerships, blended families and couples facing separation decisions.

​

In a typical session we focus on real, usable skills: how to talk so your partner listens, how to manage strong emotions without shutting down, and how to create small daily changes that add up. Sessions are safe and non-judgemental, my role is to help you both understand patterns that keep repeating and give you tools to change them. I use evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs and values, whether that means improving connection, addressing trust issues or managing conflict more respectfully.

Many couples come because they feel stuck, distant or overwhelmed by an ongoing issue. Others want to improve communication before small problems become bigger. Whatever brings you here, we’ll start by clarifying what each person wants from counselling and set clear, realistic goals. I’ll guide conversations so both voices are heard and work with you to practice new ways of relating between sessions.

• 💰 $120 per session

• In-person at 63 Railway Street, Mudgeeraba, or online session. 

• Who I help: Heterosexual, LGBTQIA+, De facto and Married couples.

• Approach: Collaborative, respectful and practical. You’ll leave with skills to practise at home.

• Confidentiality: Everything discussed is private and handled professionally.​
